Who were the Moabites? Well, they were descendants of Abraham’s nephew Lot. But did these people actually exist?
Well, archaeologists have discovered inscriptions from kings of this nation. One even mentions—by name—a king of Israel that’s recorded in the Bible! It also mentions other places from the Old Testament.
These inscriptions confirm what we already knew starting from God’s Word—the Moabites were real people in history.
Such findings in archaeology should remind us that God’s Word can be trusted. It’s a book of history. The people it mentions really lived, and the places it talks about actually existed. And its events really happened.
