We experience the world with our five senses—hearing … tasting … touching … smelling … and seeing. But God has given other creatures additional senses. One of those is “mechano-reception.”
Let’s look at this special sense in spiders that spin webs. They have small grooves in their joints that can change shape. A tiny movement in their web causes the slit to change and “mechano-receptors” detect it. It’s so precise, the spider knows if the movement was caused by the wind or its dinner! And if it’s dinner, the spider can tell the size and weight of the coming feast!
God’s design is incredible. Even in a world broken by sin, his handiwork is clearly seen.
