The Testimony of Scripture

Scripture has a lot to say about the sanctity of human life. We’re told in Genesis that each person is made in God’s image. Later we read that murder is very serious, because it takes the life of an image-bearer.

Psalms tells us God personally knits us together, fearfully and wonderfully. And we’re told that, before God formed Jeremiah in the womb, God knew the prophet. The testimony of Scripture is clear: an unborn child is a person, an image-bearer, just like you and me.

But the most profound demonstration of God’s love for all people was Jesus’ death on the cross. God became a man and died in our place. That’s how much an image bearer is worth!
