Have you ever heard the argument that we can’t say homosexuality is wrong, because “God made me this way”—or “I was born this way”? It’s an increasingly common argument—but is it a good one?

Well, the Bible teaches that every single person is born with a sin nature. We’re all sinners, separated from God and enslaved to sin. That’s why everyone struggles with sin … whether lying, anger, gossip, or homosexual desire.

Now, if a habitual liar said, “God made me this way,” would that be an excuse for disobeying God’s clear command to tell the truth? Of course not!

We’re all called to repent of our sin, trust in Christ for salvation.
