From Kinds to Species

Yesterday we learned that Noah didn’t take two of every species on the ark. He took only two of every kind. And a kind is usually at the “family” level of classification.

So, if Noah took only two of each kind, where’d all the species come from? Well, species form today. We can observe them forming when. For example, populations within a family become separated from one another. Now this process, called speciation, occurs because of the genetic diversity in each kind.

Now, some say speciation is evolution. But it’s the opposite. It usually leads to the loss of genetic information. But evolution requires a gain of -new information and that’s never observed.
