Why are Apes Still Here?

I hear this claim a lot: “If we evolved from apes, why are apes still here?” Now, while I certainly don’t believe we evolved from apes, I would say this is a bad argument.

Here’s why.

Evolutionists don’t believe we evolved from apes. They believe we evolved from an “ape-like” ancestor. Apes are supposedly our evolutionary cousins, and somewhere in the distant past we both split off from a common ancestor to go our own separate ways.

Of course, this is nothing more than storytelling. The Bible gives the true history. We were created by God, in his image. We aren’t related to apes … or any other animal! But we need to make sure we always use good arguments.
