All this week we have been looking at how to combat biblical illiteracy in the church. Well, today I want to encourage you to read all of God’s Word. You see, for us today, the New Testament seems easier to understand. The Old Testament seems more foreign, with such things as sacrifices and the Levitical law.

But Paul tells us “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching that we may be complete, equipped for every good work.” The Old Testament, which was the Bible of Jesus and the apostles, is given to us as God’s Word for a reason. It records the history and foundational concepts we need to understand Christ’s work.
