For two weeks now, we’ve been looking at who Jesus is. We’ve learned from the Bible that Jesus is and was God. He’s the second member of the Trinity, God the Son, and he’s existed from eternity past.

But why does it matter who we think Jesus is?

It matters because a false Jesus won’t save you. Jesus said unless you believe that “I am he” you’ll “die in your sins.” And, to be saved, we must confess Jesus as Lord. There’s no question more important than the one Jesus asked his disciples: “Who do you say I am?”

Instead of trusting what people say, we need to take his Word for it. Jesus is God, our perfect Savior, who died in our place.
