Christians can look forward to the coming day when there will be a new heavens . . . and a new earth. But have you ever thought about why we need this restoration?
Well, we need to go back to Genesis. After Adam and Eve sinned, this world was cursed. That is why it is full of death, suffering, disease, and natural disasters. Now, it wasn’t designed to be this way! It is because of our sin that nature groans.
But God will create new heavens and a new earth that will be free from the Curse. No more death and suffering!
You know, if Genesis isn’t literal history, as many Christians believe, then why would God need to restore His creation?
We just can’t reject a literal Genesis without destroying other doctrines.
