Arctic explorers figure out the best time and the best route for their trip. Most go in the summer months of June, July, and August because the temperatures are warmer, the ice isn’t as thick and solid, and there is more daylight.
And as a Bible explorer, you also need to figure out a good time and place for your Bible exploring. It’s important to find a quiet place and a scheduled time to spend with God.
One thing you need to be aware of, explorers, is that the devil will not be happy with you spending time with God. He wants to keep you as far away from the Bible as possible because he knows it has the power to change your life for good. So he will throw many distractions your way to attempt to get you off track. It’s important to keep your focus and concentrate.
Let’s play a game to learn some of the distractions the devil may throw your way. It’s called Distraction Concentration. You can either play this game in a group or by yourself. You will need to print out a set of concentration cards (see below). Shuffle them and place them face down on the ground. Decide who is first. The first person picks up two cards. If they match, keep them and continue. If they don’t match, flip them back over and the next person goes. The person with the most matches at the end of the game wins. Make sure you remember to concentrate on where each card is.
Can you remember any of the distractions the devil throws at us? Beware of his tricks! Decide on a time and a place to meet God daily and stick to it! If you experience distractions that you didn’t plan on, don’t give up. Ask God for help and keep on trying, day after day.
You figured it all out! Congratulations!
Not quite! Looks like you got some of the letters wrong. See if you can fix them!
