11% of US Households Now Homeschooling

One good thing to come out of the shutdowns is that many parents have been awakened to what "secular" really means—anti-God! And, as a result of that awakening, as well as various mandates and schools reopening and shutting down throughout the year, plus other factors, Census data found that 11.1% of US households with school-aged children are now homeschooling. That’s double the number from before the pandemic!

That increase means there are about 2.6 million new homeschool students across the nation. A report also found that 8.7 million children have been pulled from a government-run school and placed in a private school, which includes many Christian schools.

It’s great that parents are waking up to the fact that being secular is not neutral—and those parents whose children remain in public school need to be well aware of that! Public (secular) schools are not neutral. They are not for Christ, so they are against. One either walks in light or darkness. There is no neutral position.

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Matthew 12:30)

This exciting curriculum contains homeschool lessons that cover the entire Bible chronologically in four years, providing a powerful overview of God’s Word. Filled with theology, doctrine, and apologetics, your children will dive deep into God’s Word from a young age. Designed for grades K–5, but older students can be involved as well.
  • Answers Education Online brings some of AiG’s best resources to your computer through reading assignments, videos, and quizzes—all designed to equip you as a believer in Christ. Great for high school students and their parents! Courses include creation apologetics, the Bible, biology, geology, astronomy, and world religions and cults.
  • Building Strong Foundations: A Family Homeschool Experience.” Taking place May 12–14, 2022, at the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY, this isn’t like any homeschool conference you’ve ever been to—it’s an experience. Tour the life-size Ark Encounter with exclusive after-hours access, meet the animals in Ararat Ridge Zoo, visit the Creation Museum, relax and enjoy concerts and presentations from speakers such as Heidi St. John, Mike Farris, and myself (and break-out sessions with other AiG’s speakers). Kids and teens will discover truth with hands-on science programs, animal encounters, and more. Shop our vendor hall for homeschooling resources, have a “mom’s night out,” and so much more!
  • Unlocking Science with “Mr. P” (Roger Patterson, a former science teacher who now serves on our staff). This Answers TV show teaches fascinating scientific principles and facts through the lens of a biblical worldview and features hands-on episodes with experiments you can do at home. With Unlocking Science, you can learn how to understand science from a biblical worldview.
  • Hike & Seek with Peter Schriemer is an educational family program on Answers TV, produced in the style of a nature documentary. It features wildlife filmmaker Peter Schriemer as he explores God’s incredible creation.

It’s a fun blend of apologetics, biblical-worldview training, and kid-friendly fun.
  • God’s Design for Science is Bible-based and Creator-centered. This curriculum will sow a love for science in your students, grades 3–8. The evidence supports the Genesis account of creation!
  • Elements of Faith examines the full periodic table and reveals meaningful spiritual insights for high school students.
  • Principles of Mathematics is a math curriculum that teaches a biblical worldview for grades 6–8.
  • The Riot and the Dance curriculum is biology like you've never seen it before. • Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology Curriculum Set is a junior high anatomy and physiology curriculum that helps students see that these intricate systems could not arise by accident and can only be the product of a Master Designer.
  • Chemistry Curriculum Set, designed for high schoolers, is a thorough, practical, engaging lab-based curriculum that focuses on chemistry concepts and their applications. Even better, everything is strongly rooted in a biblical worldview.

You can browse all of our homeschool products on our online store.

And if you are looking for a wonderful biblical worldview (a truly Christian) school to place your children, consider our Christian school, Twelve Stones Christian Academy in Northern Kentucky. At Twelve Stones, children are taught to think critically and biblically, rooted in the Word of God with academic excellence, and unlike many public schools, parents are actually informed of curricula choices! Some families have moved to our area so their children can attend Twelve Stones—and also be near the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum attractions.
