Vogue: Having a Boyfriend Is Now “Embarrassing”

The godless, secular world hates the family—which we should expect from those who reject God’s Word. They hate God’s design of one man and one woman becoming “one flesh,” working together to fulfill the dominion mandate, and being fruitful and multiplying to fill the earth with godly offspring.

I recently saw another example of this intense hatred for God’s design. Vogue magazine published an article asking, “Is having a boyfriend embarrassing now?”—a question the author answers with a yes!

The article is behind a paywall, so I couldn’t read the whole thing, but consider what Vogue posted to their X account:

“Being partnered doesn’t affirm your womanhood anymore,” writes Chanté Joseph. “It is no longer considered an achievement and, if anything, it’s become more of a flex to pronounce yourself single.”

In other words, a woman having a boyfriend—not even a husband, just a boyfriend!—is no longer something to strive for, be excited about, or share with others. Rather, she argues that it’s a “flex to pronounce yourself single.”

This kind of anti-marriage (which is anti-biblical) messaging is being pushed hard (and it comes both from women like this author and from many men online), and, sadly, it influences people and how they perceive the value of marriage and family. So I thought I would share a positive message about marriage and family, affirming the goodness of God’s design.

Tomorrow (December 30) is my and my wife’s 53rd wedding anniversary. How I thank and praise God for the wonderful wife he brought to me.

Marriage and family are God’s design for a reason—because, even in a fallen world broken because of sin, it’s still good!

For those who have read the book Miraculous, which traces the history of the AiG ministry from when Mally and I were born up until the present time, you will know I say very sincerely that this ministry wouldn’t be here without such a special wife who has supported me more than I can express in words. And her children and grandchildren adore her! The ministry is just as much a part of her legacy as it is my parents’ and mine.

Yes, marriage and family are God’s design for a reason—because, even in a fallen world broken because of sin, it’s still good!

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
