“Avoid using Christian-centric language,” says a UK university in a recent guidance document to its staff. In an effort to encourage staff and students to make England’s “Brighton [University] a place where everyone feels respected and valued,” the guidance says to “avoid Christian-centric language,” such as “Christmas closure period.” But does this really make everyone feel “respected and valued”?
Of course not! It certainly doesn’t make the students who celebrate Christmas feel respected or valued! But this guidance isn’t really about inclusivity at all—it’s about erasing the once-Christian heritage of the UK and continuing to foist atheism and secularism on the culture. And it’s a reminder that no matter what language they try to use, there is no neutral position with such things!
There continues to be a push to remove Christ from Christmas and strip the holiday of its true meaning as our culture becomes more and more secular.
This is obvious because Christmas is, of course, a Christian-centric holiday! It’s supposed to be, and historically has been, a celebration of Christ’s birth, the incarnation of Immanuel—God with us. But there continues to be a push to remove Christ from Christmas and strip the holiday of its true meaning as our culture becomes more and more secular. But secular (e.g., saying “winter closure period”) isn’t neutral—it’s anti-Christian, anti-God, and anti-Bible.
As Jesus said,
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Matthew 12:30)
There is no neutrality!
Well, unlike Brighton University, here at Answers in Genesis we don’t think that you can make Christ too “centric” to the Christmas season (or any other time of the year!). So if you want to celebrate Christmas where the Savior is at the center of the celebration, come to ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum or ChristmasTime at the Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky.
During our Christmas events, you’ll enjoy thousands of lights, dinosaurs lit up throughout the grounds, the Ark illuminated in rainbow colors, a live nativity (including live animals), a gospel-based Christmas program with live Christmas music, and so much more. And it’s all free (you just pay for parking, which is also free if you live in several surrounding counties*).
Make Christ centric to your Christmas this year at our events. See dates and times at ArkEncounter.com/Christmas or CreationMuseum.org/Christmas.

Marian Tompson recently quit La Leche League because of a new “inclusivity policy” that allows men to attend meetings to be supported in “chestfeeding” newborns.
Was the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000 with just five loaves and two fish a little less than miraculous?
