Next in the Sexual Revolution: Children

I’ve talked before about the growing rise of polyamory (“many loves”) and the attempt to get it redefined as just another sexual orientation. Well, now the same thing is happening with pedophilia.

A recent column in The Federalist includes this warning in the subtitle,

We cannot dismiss the campaign to legalize pedophilia as fringy stuff that will get nowhere. It’s real and it’s here and it’s gaining strength.

They claim children are sexual beings too and who are we to deny a consenting child that right?

Activists are claiming it’s just another sexual orientation, and some are going as far as to make the argument that “kids can decide for themselves how to express themselves and shouldn’t be denied a choice in how they identify—no matter how young they are.” They claim children are sexual beings too and who are we to deny a consenting child that right? Some may say that this is still “fringy stuff.” But radical sex education curriculums, drag queen story hours at public libraries, and the growing sexual content in children’s programming are only going to increase the sexualization of our children. What our culture is pushing is dangerous, and it’s simply the logical consequence of the sexual and gender revolutions (as Romans chapter 1 outlines). Don’t be deceived—those revolutionaries aren’t satisfied with the legalization of gay “marriage” and the acceptance of a transgender ideology. More is coming.

We need to pray for America and other western nations. We need to protect and equip our children, and we need to battle against the evils our culture is pushing. As Christians, we’re the only ones with the truth (i.e., that God created us male and female, marriage is between one man and one woman for life, and sexual relations are to be kept within the bounds of marriage) our culture so desperately needs to hear. Without God, our culture is rushing headlong into chaos that will only continue to hurt men, women, and children. We, as believers, need to stand on our foundation of God’s Word as truth and boldly confront the lies of the culture, making known God’s design for marriage and sexuality and proclaiming the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.

Get Equipped to Fight for Our Children

June Hunt, of Hope for the Heart, recently chatted with AiG’s Dr. Georgia Purdom about this issue and shared the statistic that 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will suffer childhood sexual abuse. Surely these statistics will only get worse as our culture continues to sexualize children and push the idea that child sexual activity is harmless.
