My first conference for 2011 was at Valley Forge Baptist Church in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. And it was a great start to the New Year. There were five sessions on Sunday and two more on Monday night. The auditorium was packed for each session, and those who came were hungry for the message.
I was greatly encouraged by the comments and testimonies from the folks at the sessions. One in particular stood out. A young lady came to me and said she always wondered why her friends at school wanted to argue about creation. She said, “It just seems like they are arguing just to be arguing!” To her it seemed pointless. She told me that after coming to this conference she now understands that it is really about the authority of God’s Word and being able to defend your faith. As she started to walk away, she turned to me and said, “My life will never be the same. I will be a much better Christian because of what I learned during this conference.”
What a way to begin 2011!
