With over 21 million YouTube subscribers and a cumulative 16 billion views, children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel is wildly popular. Millions of children watch her videos every day, and maybe yours do too (I hope not)—but should they?
Ms. Rachel has made headlines several times over the past few years because of her support of left-wing politicians and causes along with her public celebration of “pride” and LGBTQ relationships. Now, while she doesn’t often feature her political and social views in her children’s videos, one of her costars identifies as nonbinary and goes by they/them pronouns. Do you really want your kids being impacted by this anti-biblical behavior?
Should Christians parents who are concerned about who is discipling their children avoid Ms. Rachel’s videos? Well, I certainly believe so—and I explain all my reasons in a recent video we filmed for my YouTube channel:
Who our children trust and look up to matters!
Who our children trust and look up to matters! The content they are consuming shapes their worldview from the time they are very young. I encourage you to ensure that those influences are godly and teach biblical worldview (like, for example, the shows on our streaming platform, Answers.tv). It’s all part of following God’s command in Ephesians 6:4:
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
