You see, after the global flood of Noah’s day, God commanded humanity to “fill the earth” (Genesis 9:1), but instead they chose to settle in one place and build a tower to make a name for themselves (Genesis 11:4). This act of disobedience led God to confuse their language, causing them to scatter across the globe.

It’s important to note that all of the languages spoken today have been traced back to a group of language families that bear no relationship with each other—exactly what we would expect when we start with the biblical account of God giving different languages at Babel.
