Artists from the Answers in Genesis design team continue to work on the exciting first-century Jerusalem model that will be housed in the Jerusalem building (currently under construction). This massive project will, Lord willing, open in 2026 at the Ark Encounter. Enjoy some more details and behind-the-scenes photos in this blog post.
The Jerusalem model will measure 2,000 sq. ft. and will be divided into three massive sections. It will be the most up-to-date model archaeologically in the world.
The Jerusalem model will measure 2,000 sq. ft. and will be divided into three massive sections. It will be the most up-to-date model archaeologically in the world. Producing this large, extremely accurate scale model of first-century Jerusalem is quite a feat, requiring many artists with different skills and a number of pieces of specialized equipment including 3D printers, plastic injection molding equipment, and much more. Many of these same artists have been involved in producing the exhibits at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum.
The photos give you a little behind-the-scenes look at some of our artists working in the new 3D print farm that houses around 150 top-of-the-line 3D resin printers. This process involves the design, printing, cleaning, and curing of each piece that goes through.
We’re so thrilled to watch this project develop and can’t wait to share it with you in 2026!
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
