At the Answers in Genesis design studios, the many talented people God has brought to the ministry are hard at work on various new exhibits and upgrades for the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky. I thought I’d share some photos of one of their big projects—the Jerusalem model.
This 2,000 sq. ft. model of first-century Jerusalem will be housed in the Jerusalem building currently under construction at the Ark Encounter. The model is expected to open in 2026.
This will be the most archaeologically up-to-date model of first-century Jerusalem in the world. And it will be used for evangelistic purposes!
A lot of work is going into constructing the thousands of houses and other structures (including the temple), 15,000 people, and thousands of plants that will be featured in the model. Also associated with the model will be all sorts of props, artifacts, etc. that fit the period. This will be the most archaeologically up-to-date model of first-century Jerusalem in the world. And it will be used for evangelistic purposes!
The attention to detail as our artists painstakingly produce all that’s necessary for this massive model is amazing. Take the fabrication of the amphora, for example. These pots are created by pouring a mixture of polyurethane liquid into a custom-made mold. Once it has hardened, the artist removes it from the mold and begins the refining process.
Enjoy these photos of what our artists are working on and some renderings of what the completed model will look like.
There’s no doubt this exhibit will be spectacular, truly world-class.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
