Three Tips for Your Spring Break or Summer Vacation at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum

It might be the middle of winter, but that doesn’t mean families aren’t thinking about spring break or summer vacation. And if you’d like a trip that will encourage you in your faith and equip you with answers to the questions of our day, while you also make incredible family memories, plan your trip to the world’s two leading Christian themed attractions, the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky.

Family at Ark Encounter

Here are three tips for planning your upcoming trip:

  1. Get a Bouncer Pass. A 3-Day Bouncer Pass gives you three days of “bouncing” between our two attractions as many times as you want during that time, giving you more flexibility in planning your visit and seeing (or revisiting) everything you want to see (or consider an Unlimited Bouncer Pass which includes a full year of “bouncing” and free parking).
  2. Choose a partner hotel for discounted rates. Our website has a handy hotel search feature that allows you to easily see hotels in the area—including partner hotels that offer special discounted rates for Ark Encounter and Creation Museum visitors! This search feature makes it easy to find a great place to stay for your visit.
  3. Explore the local area. Northern Kentucky is a beautiful area with lots to do in addition to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum (and there’s already tons to do here—check out this blog post highlighting everything your Ark or museum admission gives you). Consider enjoying BB Riverboats on the Ohio River, the Newport Aquarium, the National Museum of the US Air Force near Dayton, Ohio (which is free and one of my favorites), Kentucky Horse Park, or the Underground Railroad Museum in Cincinnati. Or explore God’s creation in incredible places like Red River Gorge (a favorite hiking spot of our astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner), Mammoth Cave National Park (the world’s longest known cave system), or Cumberland Falls State Resort Park (one of the few places where you can sometimes see a “moonbow,” a nighttime rainbow)—all within just three hours’ drive of our attractions. See more ideas of what to do in this 2018 blog post.

And here’s a bonus tip: always check our hours before planning your trip! They change by season throughout the year, so it’s important to know our current hours before making your travel plans.

Oh, and if you’re planning your trip for this summer, consider enriching your experience with:

  • Explore Science Camp. This year we’re offering a 5-day Explore Forensic Science Camp and Explore Science Camp, as well as a 3-day Explore Jr. Science Camp. Kids love these days filled with hands-on science, biblical worldview teaching, new friends, and amazing experiences.
  • Explore Jr. Zoology
  • High School Science Lab Intensives (registration opening soon!). Do you have a high school student in need of hands-on science labs from a biblical worldview perspective? We’re offering chemistry, forensic science, anatomy and physiology, and biology this summer in our state-of-the-art lab at the Ark Encounter.
  • Forensic Science High School Lab
  • 40 Days and 40 Nights of Gospel Music. The world’s largest Christian music festival is coming to the Ark Encounter for the third year in a row, August 1–September 9, 2023. There’s really no better place to plan your spring break or summer vacation trip than to visit the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum.

There’s really no better place to plan your spring break or summer vacation trip than to visit the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Not only will you and your family have an amazing time, but you will learn from God’s Word and leave feeling encouraged and challenged. You will also know you are supporting a ministry that loves and defends God’s Word!

Oh, and don’t forget that kids are free in ’23! All children ten and under enjoy free admission to both attractions this year.
