We’re very excited that one of the world’s largest (and certainly the most up-to-date) models of first-century Jerusalem is coming to the Ark Encounter. It will be absolutely massive and divided into three pieces so guests can walk around and enjoy the intricate details. Cutting-edge technologies will enhance your understanding of the city that witnessed so many key events recorded in Scripture. While marveling at the incredible model, guests will encounter teaching on the historicity of Jesus and events in the Gospels, the establishment of the church, the accuracy of the Bible confirmed by archaeology, and the importance of the Great Commission. Acquiring a deeper knowledge of this city will help people gain a better understanding of Scripture. It’s going to be so powerful and a wonderful addition to the Ark Encounter (and ties in wonderfully with the Borderland: Israel at the Time of Jesus exhibit at the Creation Museum).

Now this fully funded exhibit needs a building to house it. So, our designers came up with a great plan: combine the much-needed Welcome Center and bus drop-off area with the Jerusalem model building. This will create a “walled city” area and open the Ark grounds up for future expansion (including the Tower of Babel attraction we’d love to build if it all works out the way we hope). It’s all very exciting!
