“I Like [that Answers for Women] Deals with Tough Topics and Not Fluff!”

by Ken Ham on April 13, 2018

We recently wrapped up this year’s Answers for Women conference. The theme was Life: Contending for Life from Beginning to End.

Several hundred ladies from across the United States gathered to learn how they can stand up for the lives of everyone—the unborn, those who have had an abortion, the elderly, those in sex trafficking, and more. And it was a great conference that the ladies in attendance said was encouraging and equipped them to more effectively contend for life.

Dr. Georgia Purdom, who heads up our women’s conference and was the opening speaker, shared these thoughts on her blog.

Every year, one of my favorite tasks is reading through the surveys that we receive at the end of the women’s conference. I am always so humbled to see how God uses this conference in the lives and hearts of ladies from diverse age groups and walks of life. It was great this year to once again have the conference using the facilities of Florence Baptist Church in Kentucky. I wanted to share just a small snapshot of the amazing feedback we received this year.

Thank you, Dr. Purdom, for living out your vision from many years ago and allowing it to become a reality and a source of inspiration in my life for seven years (so far). I always come away refreshed and focused, and this year I am equipped with practical steps to uphold the sanctity of life.
I have learned a lot, and you have approached lots of subject matter that is so necessary for me to be exposed to so I can be informed about our faith and how to stand on the promises of Christ our Savior.
Appreciated how well rounded the discussions were. We not only discussed/heard about abortion but about loving the women in those situations
Personally, I thought it was great! I learned a lot from this conference. I thought it was awesome! [11-year-old attendee]
Thank you for all the work you put into making this conference happen. It was both enjoyable and a blessing. I am super excited about next year’s theme too.
It was very helpful in giving me ways to defend my faith that I had never thought I could find a way to explain!
Everything during the conference was great. The music was awesome and inspiring! Loved it! Speakers were great, informative, relevant, God-honoring. Lunch was wonderful and went smoothly. Vendors have a great mix of offering, and I happily went “shopping” at every break.
It’s great to have this to bring our ladies to where the authority of God’s Word is upheld.
I like the fact that the conference deals with tough topics and not fluff!
I didn’t really know what to expect, but this blew my mind! Thank you!
I love seeing women being encouraged and equipped by what they’ve been taught, and, as a result, thinking about ways in which they can apply what they’ve learned!

2019 Answers for Women Conference

Though this year’s conference just finished, we’re already looking forward to next year’s! The 2019 Answers for Women Conference will be Sacred: Embracing God’s Design for Sexuality. Issues of marriage, gender, and sexuality are extremely relevant in our day, yet many Christians are not prepared to effectively and compassionately engage with others on these topics. All Answers in Genesis conferences deal with biblical authority, creation, and apologetics! Quite a unique emphasis!

I will be speaking at the women’s conference along with a great line-up of other speakers from across the country, including

  • Heidi St. John, host of “The Busy Mom” podcast and author of Becoming MomStrong
  • Emily Thomes, a young woman who formerly identified as a homosexual but now shares about her former sin struggles and her new life as a believer
  • Dr. Owen Strachan, Senior Fellow of the Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood; Amanda Peacock, who is involved in women’s ministry
  • Phylicia Masonheimer, blogger and author of the book on biblical sexuality, Christian Cosmo: The Sex Talk You Never Had
  • Rose Colón, director and counselor at Lighthouse Biblical Counseling Center
  • AiG’s Dr. Georgia Purdom, molecular geneticist and director of Answers for Women.
