How Can You Reach People from Other Religions for Christ?

by Ken Ham on September 7, 2015

Have you ever had a Mormon or a Jehovah’s Witness knock on your door and not know what to say to them about your Christian faith and how to defend it? What about the Muslim family across the street—how can you lovingly witness to them? Well, Answers in Genesis is pleased to present a brand-new resource to help you understand what others believe. This book, World Religions and Cults: Counterfeits of Christianity, edited by my son-in-law, Bodie Hodge, and with AiG curriculum writer Roger Patterson, is an eye-opening apologetics/witnessing resource. It presents a clear and thorough analysis of “counterfeit” religions like Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Islam, Deism, Satanism, Zoroastrianism, and many more (even the worldview of Atheism).

Many people who settled in America when it was founded in the 1600s to 1700s were “Christian.” The country was even founded using many Christian principles, and this was expected since it was mostly born out of a largely Protestant country, England. But today in the US (as well as in other nations in the Western world like the UK, and my native Australia), there are hundreds of different religions from around the world represented. I sometimes quote President Obama, who said the following about America, “Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”1 I believe President Obama is really talking about the transformation of America from a country that had a predominantly Christianized worldview to a country with a very man-centered worldview where Christians increasingly are seen as the “bad” guys! Sadly, the President sees this as a good transformation!

Many worshippers of these world religions live in your own neighborhood. Now, some of these religions seem like they have similarities to Christianity, but then deviate greatly from the teachings of the Bible. In many of these cases, these religions openly affirm that the Bible is true, but then something gets in their way. The common factor: man's fallible opinions! These religions put man’s fallible opinions over God’s Word. They are man-centered, including the idea that a person's works will get them to heaven, not through salvation freely given by God to those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

This new book (and eBook) will show you how these religions view the Bible, if they believe in creation and a Creator, how they view Christ, and how a Christian could witness to people who are part of those religions. You will clearly see the most important differences between Christianity and these false religions and why they don’t lead to salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. This is a must-have resource for anyone seeking to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
