Children’s Ministry Conference 2015

by Ken Ham

We live in era when children and teens are increasingly being taught to question God’s Word. These kids are also being told that there is no absolute truth—that man decides truth and morality. And, sadly, many Christian parents and churches are not combating this onslaught of secular teaching, and two-thirds of our young people are leaving the church, and even the faith. And they’re not just departing once they get to college—they’re “already gone” in middle and high school! It’s not enough for us to equip high school and college students with the answers they need to defend their faith. We need to prepare our children with the tools they need so they can defend Christianity and boldly proclaim the truth of God’s Word.

And, sadly, many of those young people still inside the church have little knowledge of biblical truth! For example, we commissioned America’s Research Group to conduct a survey of young people in their 20s, and the results were shocking:

  • 40% of them (again, these are young people inside the church) don’t believe they’re born again;
  • 35% think the Bible might have errors;
  • 65% believe that if you’re a good person, you’ll get to heaven.

These are scary statistics in the church—and they need to change! Our new book Ready to Return, set to be released in September, documents the research showing that the 20s generation is going to fundamentally change the church and society if our culture continues to brainwash generations in a secular worldview as is happening.

Leaders and workers in children’s ministry have a great responsibility to prepare little hands for the big world, to do as we were commanded and “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). Here at Answers in Genesis we have a passion for reaching kids with the truth of God’s Word. And that’s why we are hosting a Children’s Ministry Conference here at the Creation Museum near Cincinnati!

You see, Jesus had great love and care for little children:

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)

And He commands us to teach them the Truth.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (Deuteronomy 6:7)

At the 2015 Children's Ministry Conference on September 11–12, you and your ministry team will receive lots of practical, hands-on ideas to equip children with answers that will serve them the rest of their lives. Hear from Bryan Osborne, Bodie Hodge, Stacia McKeever, Ruth Carter, Eric Hovind, Ryan Frank, and John Swomley on topics such as dinosaurs, how to keep the next generation of kids from leaving the church, and teaching children with special needs. The registration fee includes lunch on Friday and Saturday, plus free admission to the Creation Museum and a 20% discount on resources at the museum bookstore.

And you’ll save 25% when you register before July 1 and get the early-bird discount price!

You can also receive $10 off each additional registration from the same church.

If you are involved in children’s ministry, I strongly encourage you to register today for this exciting and information-packed conference. And please forward my blog to the leaders of the children's ministry in your church.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
