Delighting in God's Word

by Ken Ham on December 28, 2014

I love Psalm 119:

I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word. (Psalms 119:15–17)

I enjoy reading through the Old Testament as much as the New Testament. At times, there are verses that "shout out" to me—and I stop and ponder them, as I contemplate the ministry the Lord has called us to at Answers in Genesis and the spiritual battle we are in (that seems to get more intense every day).

Here are two verses that stood out to me from 2 Chronicles this past week:

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9)

It’s a reminder to stay loyal to God’s Word—and to the utmost of my ability, that’s what I strive for as the leader of Answers in Genesis.

And Micaiah said, “As the Lord lives, whatever my God says, that I will speak.” (2 Chronicles 18:13)

I recall what I saw in my late father. He would never knowingly want to compromise God’s Word. Regardless of what others might say (Christian scientists or theologians) I pray before the Lord that I will stay true to God’s Word and never compromise it with man’s fallible ideas.

I do praise the Lord for these reminders from His Word.

As we close out 2014 and begin 2015, I pray each one of us will want to delight in God’s Word more than we ever have before.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
