AiG Astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner Presents More Excellent Research

In a recent staff meeting, Answers in Genesis astronomer Danny Faulkner briefed the staff on his recent trip to Boston to attend the 224th meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS). Dr. Faulkner runs the Creation Museum’s state-of-the-art observatory and planetarium shows. At the AAS meeting, Dr. Faulkner presented a “poster paper” on some of his recent work with eclipsing binary stars. This work was in conjunction with a small research group that he is a part of. The research group includes two other creation astronomers, Professors Ron Samec and Bob Hill, and students from Bob Jones University. In all, the group presented four poster papers.

While at the meeting, Dr. Faulkner attended several sessions, including ones on extrasolar planets (planets orbiting other stars) and cosmology. These meetings allow astronomers to interact with one another and learn of recent developments in their science. These kinds of meetings are beneficial for our science staff to stay current in their respective fields. It’s important for creation scientists to show the secular world the kind of groundbreaking research they’re doing—because creationists perform excellent observational science, too!
