So What?

What should you do when you read an article like this one on the NBC news website titled “Ice-blasting test proves that comet impacts can spark life’s ingredients”? This article begins as follows:

Scientists fired steel balls into blocks of ice with a glorified BB gun to prove that cometary impacts could have created the chemical building blocks of life on ancient Earth. Or on the icy moons of Saturn and Jupiter, for that matter.

The experiment provided further support for the idea that the stuff of comets, plus the heat of impact, would be enough to cook up amino acids.

“This process demonstrates a very simple mechanism whereby we can go from a mix of simple molecules, such as water and carbon dioxide ice, to a more complicated molecule, such as an amino acid,” the University of Kent's Mark Price, one of the leaders of the experiment, said in a news release. “This is the first step toward life. The next step is to work out how to go from an amino acid to even more complex molecules such as proteins.”

Well, had you obtained copies of AiG’s The New Answers Books you would know that this new article is just dealing with the same old arguments that have been answered time and time again. So, they produced amino acids? So what? Life is built on so much more: a code and information.

If you read this bizarre article—reporting that steel balls fired into ice gives evidence of how life evolved—then make sure you read the chapter from The New Answers Book 2 titled “Can Natural Processes Explain the Origin of Life?

You will also want to read a related web article we posted on Monday by AiG’s Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell titled “Sutter’s Mill Meteorite Harbors a Wealth of Elusive Organics.”

I find that, time and time again, evolutionists are really not coming up with much that’s new. They just try to push the same old arguments that have often been answered.

This is a great reminder that AiG already knows the most-asked questions people have about evolution and creation, and we already have answers to the top 100 or so in the three New Answers Books. (By the way, keep watch: The New Answers Book 4 will be available in our web store very soon.)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying, Ken
