Gap Clothing Stores Promote “Do Whatever You Want . . . ”

Many of you have probably already seen the commercial on a TV station. If you haven’t, I encourage you to watch it at this link:

Now here are the words to the commercial:

2, 4, 6, 8! ‘Tis the time to liberate! Go Christmas! Go Hanukkah! Go Kwanzaa! Go Solstice! Go classic tree, go plastic tree, go plant a tree, go without a tree! You 86 the rules! You do what just feels right! I mean do whatever you want-a-kah and to all a cheery night!
Just FYI:

“Go Hanukkah!” refers to the eight-day Jewish holiday. “Go Kwanzaa!” refers to the americanized African heritage and cultural celebration. “Go Solstice!” alludes to the pagan/atheist holiday. “You 86 the rules!” means you cancel the rules.

Think about the philosophy the Gap clothing stores is promoting: “You do what just feels right! . . . do whatever you want . . . .”

Sadly, this is the philosophy of this age. I am reminded of the verse of Scripture from Judges 21:25:

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
America (and our entire Western civilization) is suffering from generations of people being taught the Bible’s history is not true—evolution/millions of years is fact. The “King” (our Creator and Savior) in the hearts of minds of so many is gone as far as they are concerned. So, now we are reaping the consequences in seeing generations of young people who now “86 the rules” and “do what just feels right” as is being promoted by the Gap clothing stores.

No wonder the American Family Association had launched a boycott of Gap clothing stores. We have recently heard that AFA is suspending its boycott of Gap, as the clothing store chain may be coming up with a new Christmas commercial.

Devotion

My delights

(Psalm 119:143) Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet your commandments are my delights.

Occupation of the mind with the Lord Jesus Christ and His Bible is the best defense against being overwhelmed by trouble and anxiety.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying, Ken
