News Item on Already Gone

by Ken Ham

Our new book Already Gone has already hit the bestsellers list on AiG’s website. We are now starting to receive feedback, reviews, etc. on this book, which we believe will shock and challenge the church. We call for a “revolution” in the church (akin to a new Reformation). Onenewsnow.com is one of the first Christian news websites to report on this new book. Their report states:

A new book, Already Gone: Why Your Kids Will Quit Church and What You Can Do to Stop It, co-authored by Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis, reaffirms past surveys that have shown most children who grow up in the church will leave it as they become young adults. But it also indicates that such disenchantment with the church often begins at an early age.

Ham and researcher Britt Beemer surveyed 1,000 young adults who have left churches and found that Christian churches are “losing many more people by middle school and many more by high school than [they] will ever lose in college.”

T.A. McMahon, executive director of The Berean Call, believes the failure to keep evangelical youth interested in and excited about the Bible is a consequence of abandoning teaching them in favor of trying to entertain them.

“I think it's the result for the most part of the consumer, seeker-friendly approach to church growth, which I believe has really done more to wean the church off the Bible than any trend in this century and the last one,” he contends. He agrees with the survey’s conclusion that “on the whole, the Sunday school programs of today are statistical failures.”

Adult Stem Cells Save Boy’s Life

Onenewsnow also reports on adult stem cells being used successfully to treat diseases:
Research using adult stem cells has saved the life of a Texas boy suffering from sickle cell anemia.

Dallas-area residents Joe and Darlene Davis welcomed the news of a pregnancy and later the birth of their first son. Texas Alliance for Life recorded an interview with the couple.

“I was very excited to find that I had a son—but finding out that he had sickle cell anemia, as a nurse I knew there was going to be a lot of problems associated with that disease,” Joe said

. . . Stem cell therapy was the key. . . . “[Cells from] Isaac’s umbilical cord blood, adult stem cells, [were] going to save my son's life, and that adult stem cell got my son cured today.”

. . . Research shows adult stem cells are now being used to treat well over 70 diseases and medical conditions, while research using embryonic stem cells—which requires killing of a human embryo—has produced no results.

Holds out the rescue

(Job 18:11, 14, 18, 21) Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet. . . . His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. . . . He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. . . . Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

(1 Corinthians 5:7) For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us

A life that ends in the disaster of hell is absolutely unnecessary because the Lord Jesus Christ now holds out the rescue of His death on the Cross to avoid hell.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
