We were thrilled this year to have my brother Stephen, his wife, Trish, and their two children, Sarah and David join us for Christmas and part of January. It is not often we have family from Australia for Christmas so this was a special time for our family.
We are thrilled to let you know that *Denali Snelling* arrived on Friday 26 December 2008 at 8:42am. He was born in at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. Mum (Miriam) and Denali are doing well. Phil is a very proud dad!
Denali weighed in at 2.98kg (6lb 9oz) and 49.5 cm long. Denali ("The Great One") in Alaska is the highest mountain peak in North America, at a height of approximately 20,320 feet (6,194 m). It is the centerpiece of Denali National Park. Of Athabaskan Indian derivation. We think he is absolutely gorgeous .
Andrew, Kym and Rachel travelled from Adelaide the day he arrived but had to continue the trip by trains and bus via Melbourne after colliding with a kangaroo on the Mallee Highway in northern Victoria! We saw him firstly in hospital on Sunday 28th and we are spending some more time with him this week before we somehow get home to Brisbane. (Our car is still in Swan Hill awaiting repairs.) Quite an adventure all round! God is good.
He ChoseThanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,(1 Peter 3:18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God
If any one ought to have been spared the cup of suffering it was the Lord Jesus Christ, but He chose to suffer for our sins so He could bring us to Heaven.
