Children Donate to the Creation Museum

This week we had a wonderful surprise when a group of 17 Vacation Bible School (VBS) children from Hartland Alliance Church in Hartland, Ohio, visited the Creation Museum. These children were aged 7–12 years and attended the Amazon Expedition VBS (created by AiG) at their church.

Marianne Deters brought in these wide-eyed youngsters who were thrilled to be able to visit the museum and see the exhibits and dinosaurs for themselves. This visit was a hard-earned trip for this excited group. They had to faithfully attend VBS, bring their Bibles, learn their memory verses, and invite and bring visitors.

The Walk Through Biblical History in the museum made the 7 C’s of history come to life for them. They quickly recited from memory the 7 C’s of history, just as they learned them in VBS. We were equally blessed to meet the seven faithful adults who accompanied these children and had a passion to see to it that these young children were taught how to defend their faith at such a young age. What amazed these teachers was the rapt attention of the children (about 100 total) during their 45-minute teaching sessions. After the sessions, the children still wanted to ask questions as in depth as the real age of the earth.

The idea of using Answers in Genesis’s Amazon Expedition came about as they realized how indoctrinated their young children were to the teaching of millions of years. They were praising the Lord for the teaching tools of Answers in Genesis and presented Vicki Eggert, Advancement Manager (far left in the photo), with a check for $400 as a donation by the children of the Hartland Alliance Church to the Creation Museum. Included is a photo of this excited group of future “creation scientists” as they presented the check to Vicki Eggert.

We praise the Lord for the over 2000 churches who are using AiG’s Amazon Expedition this summer to teach their children. These changed young lives are the groundwork for the churches of tomorrow—and what a great way to set their feet on the right foundation of God’s Word by training them how to trust the Bible starting in Genesis.

“My heart beat faster”

The following testimony received from a pastor was so powerful, I felt compelled to share it with you. This is a must read:

. . . I grew up on the west coast of Ireland. I grew up not knowing who God was or that He had a plan for my life. My family had never been to church and had no interest (I’m still working on them!). I came to know Christ at the age of 13 at a Christian youth camp that was held near where I lived. Growing up in Ireland was very hard as a young Christian; I know it’s hard everywhere, but when there are no Christians your age, you begin to feel very isolated and wonder if God is only for old people. Needless to say I began to ask questions.

The questions I asked I think most teenagers ask, “How can I trust the Bible if . . .” kind of questions; what I was learning in school contradicted what I learned in church. So when I went to my pastor and other Christian leaders I always got the same answer: “Just trust the Bible” or “Just trust in Jesus” or my favorite “Its not a salvation issue.” I’m glad to say that I knew there were answers, and even at that young age I knew that the leaders where bluffing me and had no idea how to answer them.

That’s when I found AiG. I had been asking so many questions that a person in another church heard about it and gave me a video cassette of Mr. Ham speaking about dinosaurs; at this stage Mr. Ham had no gray hair! Seeing that video made my heart beat faster; I’m not kidding. It was the first time that I heard someone use the Bible to answer questions I had about them and other things. From that day, which was in 1997, I have dedicated myself to standing strong on the Word of God and using AiG to help me in that.

AiG has helped me grow strong in my ministry; I can say without doubt that I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the hard work that Mr. Ham and all the staff at AiG put in each and every day. God is using you all in an amazing way. AiG has provided me with the tools for over a decade to answer peoples’ questions and use the Bible to back up what we see in the science world. People back in Ireland for the last number of years have been coming to me with questions about all kinds of things because they are starting to believe they can be answered. It’s sad that the churched can’t answer them because they have such a worldview.

Right now I am being trained to go back to Ireland and start a church that will impact the nation of Ireland and take it for Jesus Christ . . . . Thanks to all of you, the church God will have us plant will be built on the Word of God, from Genesis 1:1, and I know—don’t ask me how I know—but I know that this church will have an impact on my country, and there will finally be a place where people and get the answers that they are looking for and see the Bible being lived out.

I just want to thank each and every one of you for all you do. Please stay strong and don’t get discouraged. You are impacting people and you are making a difference in lives all around the world. The rest of us need people like you to give us the tools so that we can have a ripple effect and impact the world.

(Deut. 30:19-20) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days.

When we present the Gospel, we call for Heaven’s court recorder to come and transcribe every command & response, & Heaven/life & Hell/death are on the line.
