Sexual Sin, Beauty from Ashes, and Answers for Women

The theme of this year’s Answers for Women conference is Embrace: Compassionate Answers in a Fallen World. As I explained in my earlier post on the conference, we want to help women understand the effects of sin in our fallen world (in addition to confronting people about their sin) and offer practical help and hope based on God’s Word and found in Jesus Christ. (See my other posts about presenters Camille Cates and Stacia McKeever).

I am very pleased that Rose Colón, Director of Women’s Counseling at Pure Life Ministries, will present her story about sexual sin in marriage and help us know how to minister to those married women in our churches and communities that need to know about the hope and healing that can only be found in Christ. This is what Rose had to say about her testimony and ministry:

I have been the Director of Women’s Counseling at Pure Life Ministries for almost 20 years. My preparation for counseling really started back in 1994 when my husband’s sexual sin came to light just a few months after we were married. In my desperate search for help and answers, I enrolled in the Pure Life Ministries Overcomers At-Home counseling program while my husband Jeff entered the ministry’s residential program for his addiction. Six months later, Jeff graduated from the Live-In Program and we moved from New York City to a new life in rural Kentucky where we joined the staff of Pure Life Ministries.

Pure Life Ministries was the first ministry in the world for sexual addictions treatment. It remains the largest and most successful ministry of its kind, leading Christians into victory over sexual sin through a deeper life in God for nearly 30 years (PureLifeMinistries.org). Since becoming the Director of Women’s Counseling, I have helped hundreds of women find God’s purposes for allowing such devastation in their marriage.

The most common question I get from the hurting wives is, “Is God able to bring beauty out of the ashes of my marriage?” With my firsthand knowledge of learning how to walk through this deep valley of betrayal, I am able to lead others out of this wilderness, teaching them to lean on their Beloved, Jesus.

From my unique perspective as an overcoming wife and biblical counselor, I will be addressing Sexual Sin in the Marriage at the Embrace Conference. Whether you are facing this situation in your own life, or know of someone who is going through a similar situation, you will see how God is able to take something as devastating as a husband’s sexual sin and bring good out of it. God has a divine purpose through it all, which I will share.

I have enjoyed my conversations with Rose over the last few months, and her heart for helping women is very genuine and compassionate. I am confident that you will be equipped and encouraged by her presentation. We have already received a record number of registrations for this year’s conference, so don’t miss out—register today!

Keep fighting the good fight of the faith!
