Our Ministry Partner Delivers Food and Gospel Hope

Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) Mercy Network coordinators from eight African countries recently gathered for a ministry conference in South Africa. CHF is a wonderful ministry we at Answers VBS partner with that delivers physical help to those suffering from poverty. But they don’t stop there! They know meeting physical needs is important but what people need even more than food is eternal life! So local pastors and Mercy Network coordinators make connections, build relationships, and share the gospel with everyone they help.

CHF recently shared with us their heart, as discussed during their recent African conference:

How important is the gospel of Jesus Christ in the work that Children's Hunger Fund does? This was a topic of discussion at a recent Africa Ministry Conference with CHF Mercy Network coordinators from eight African countries. Connecting with CHF Mercy Network pastors and their wives at this annual conference allows Children’s Hunger Fund the opportunity to encourage them in the important work they are doing to deliver food and the gospel to suffering children and families.

When CHF Mercy Network church pastors and volunteers go into villages to deliver Food Packs, the first priority is to make sure the physical need for food is met. A delivery of food is essential to sustain human life, but it’s the gospel of Jesus Christ that brings hope into desperate situations. CHF pastors make genuine heart-felt connections with each family. As they visit, they incorporate the message of the gospel into everything they do and say. This is why Food Pak home visits are a delivery of hope!

During our Missions Moment portion of Answers VBS, you can choose to support CHF. One quarter buys one meal for a hungry child, man, or woman. It’s a great way to open the eyes of the children in your church and community to poverty and to the importance of meeting physical needs while pointing people towards the gospel of Jesus Christ. Both are important!
