Living history is coming to the Creation Museum Easter weekend, April 18–19, 2025. What’s “living history”? It’s an exciting event for Creation Museum guests, featuring staff in accurately recreated costumes who give details on the historical background of Easter and Passover. And it’s a free event with your Creation Museum admission!

Easter Living History features special displays, such as:

1. An auxiliary military camp with soldiers: You’ll discover how the military garrison of Judaea functioned under the Roman governors and why extra troops were sometimes needed in Jerusalem during Passover.
2. A money changer’s table (like the tables Jesus flipped over in the temple in Matthew 21:12–13): This display will highlight how the temple tax system and bank worked. Learn about typical wages, currency exchange, and how coins were made.
3. A Jewish family kitchen: Passover is observed during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. See a clay oven at work and discover how families would have made their food for daily use as well as how they would have prepared for the Passover meal.
4. An optional display on Roman justice and punishment: Learn about Roman justice and methods of punishment, including flogging and crucifixion.
5. Ancient Games: Learn about and try your hand at games popular in first-century Judea and learn how they and other Roman games developed into the games we play today.
6. Biblical archaeology: Join archaeologists Tommy Chamberlin and Corey East as they present artifacts that support the accounts of the Gospels that were written by eyewitnesses during the first century. Learn how archaeology confirms the biblical text and get to touch history at the touch table.
