Are Human Clones Coming?

A few years ago Chinese scientists announced they’d cloned a species of monkey and news reports boasted that humans were next. This kind of research on human embryos is consistent with the evolutionary belief we’re just animals, so cloning humans is no different from cloning monkeys.

But in a biblical worldview, we recognize that humans are made in God’s image, distinct from the animals. We’re not just animals. We shouldn’t support attempts to clone humans. Cloning is incredibly wasteful, with hundreds of embryos—in this case, precious human beings—dying in the attempt. Human life—don’t throw it away for research.
