You’ve probably heard that chimps and humans share 98% of their DNA. Now, this kind of DNA comparison is complicated. To simplify it, researchers ignored the large mismatched sections, totaling 1.3 billion DNA letters. The remaining 2.4 billion were 98% similar.

So researchers left out huge chunks of DNA in their comparison. And yet this number is used as proof that we’re related.

Our DNA isn’t 98% similar to chimps. Yes, we share some DNA similarities—that’s no surprise. We need to make similar things like muscles, bones, and hair. It makes sense the Creator used the same basic instructions throughout his creation.
