In biology class, students learn there are six kingdoms of life. Because humans have physical characteristics like mammals, they’re placed within the “animal” kingdom.
Now, this idea that humans are animals comes from the belief that all of life is related, and that humans evolved from ape-like creatures. But of course, believing we’re just animals has real-life consequences, especially for morality.
As Christians, let’s start our thinking with God’s Word. And that means we need a seventh kingdom of life—the human kingdom!
You see, humans aren’t just animals, and we certainly aren’t related to them. We’re separate from the animals.
