Every year more churches close their doors. And fewer people say they’re Christians. Several years ago, researchers in Europe wanted to see if morality was declining within the church. And their answer was “no, not really.”

But how did they define morality? Well, things like abortion and homosexual behavior were just listed as “traditionally offensive”—while lying and stealing were labeled as “immoral.”

The study found many Europeans accept abortion and homosexual behavior, while most still think lying and stealing are wrong.

So, really, morality has declined within the church. It just depends on whether or not you use God’s standard of morality!
