Pride—the Root of All Sin?

Sadly, the month of June is now celebrated as “Pride month.” But pride isn’t worth celebrating because rebelliously thumbing our nose at the Creator is a sin and it leads to more and more sin.

Consider this. The prophet Ezekiel said the people of Judah had committed sin like the city of Sodom, which was destroyed by God in judgment.

Ezekiel says the first sin of Sodom was pride and pride led to other sins. That included forsaking the poor and engaging in homosexual relations.

Pride always leads to more sin as we arrogantly think more of ourselves and less of God and his revealed Word.

The answer to pride is faith in Christ!
