Well, because historical science is all about an interpretation of the evidence. And that’s why scientists often disagree about their conclusions! They interpret the evidence differently.

You see, what you believe about the past determines how you interpret the evidence today. If you start with man’s word, you’ll view it through the lens of millions of years and evolution. But when we start with God’s Word, you’ll interpret the evidence very differently!

The issue isn’t the evidence—but interpretation.
