Today we’re looking at one more “ite” from the Old Testament. This time it’s the Edomites, Esau’s descendants.
Now, the Bible tells us that kings reigned in Edom before any kings in Israel. But is this true? Well, some archaeologists didn’t think so. They thought of Edom as just a simple tribal society.
But what happened? Well, you might be able to guess by this point in our series!
Archaeologists discovered evidence for a massive copper-mining operation in Edom. This would’ve taken lots of technological know-how. Edom was not a simple society.
In other words, yet again: archaeology confirmed the Bible!
