Years ago, I went to Westminster Abbey in London and saw Charles Darwin’s grave, which is in the floor of the abbey. As I stood there, it hit me—Darwin was buried in the foundation of the church.

To me, this symbolizes a massive problem in the church. Many church leaders are encouraging their congregations to add evolution and millions of years into the Bible. This puts man’s ideas above God’s Word. Man becomes the authority not God. This compromise leads to more compromise and, ultimately, doubt about the truth of Scripture.

Instead of starting with the foundation of the words of men like Darwin we need to start with the only sure foundation, the Bible.
