All this week, we’ve seen layers of unprovable assumptions behind the claim we can know absolute ages from the rocks. Well, wrong assumptions result in wrong dates. This is especially true because of the truth of creation and the global flood—both would impact the decay process and explain why there’s so many problems with radiometric dating!

Now if the rocks don’t give us the age of the earth, can we know it? Yes! God gave us earth’s true history in his Word. He told us he created the universe in six days, then he gave us genealogies we can use to determine the earth’s age. And when we do that, we know the earth is only about six thousand years old.
