What is science? Well, there are two different kinds of science. The first is “observational science.” This is the science that builds our technology and makes medical innovations. It’s directly testable, observable, and repeatable.

Now, the other kind of science is “historical science.” This science tries to figure out what happened in the past. Because it’s dealing with history, it’s not directly testable, observable, or repeatable. And what you believe about the past becomes the framework that you use to interpret the evidence.

So, when you hear a claim about the past just remember: that’s not observational science. That’s an interpretation of the evidence.
