This is Ken Ham, author of the books The Dinosaurs of Eden and D Is for Dinosaur.
Suppose I told you a story that started with, “Back in my father’s day, it took three days to drive across the Australian Outback during the day?” Would you be confused? Probably not, even though I used the word “day” in three different ways. You see, the context tells you what I meant.
Now, many people say we can’t know what “day” means in Genesis chapter 1, so it could be millions of years. But context tells us what a word means. And throughout the Old Testament, when day is used with a number or the word “night” or with the phrase “evening or morning” … it means a normal day. And Genesis one has all of those!
So, “day” in Genesis 1 means a day!
