Transcript

Genesis chapter eleven records a significant event in human history—the dispersion at the tower of Babel. After the flood, Noah’s descendants gathered in rebellion against the Lord’s command to fill the earth. So, God confused their language, forcing them to spread out over the earth.

The Bible records about 70 or so “language families” leaving Babel. Now, there are nearly seven thousand languages spoken today. So how’d we get so many languages?

Well, languages belong in language “families.” Over time, new languages form within these families.

Researchers also believe there’s only about one hundred original language families!

As always, science confirms the Bible.
