Transcript

In Luke chapter three, we’re given a genealogy of Jesus. It shows that he was of the proper descent to be the Messiah and was to fulfill all of the prophecies and promises that were made about him. Luke traces this genealogy all the way back to Adam. Clearly, he viewed those early chapters of Genesis as history, accurately recording the lineage from the first man onward.

In fact, Luke even calls Adam “the son of God,” since he had no earthly parents. Luke, guided by the Holy Spirit, certainly didn’t believe Adam came from some population of early humans!

Jesus didn’t descend from some mythological person or “type” of humanity. He came from a real man, who had a real son.
