Transcript

In Genesis we read about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve were told not to eat its fruit a command they disobeyed. But what was the fruit?

Well, the Bible doesn’t specifically tell us. Some people think it was an apple but that’s just conjecture.

We don’t know exactly what the fruit was, but what we do know is that it was a real fruit, growing on a real tree, in real history. And the impact of eating that fruit is still felt today: in the sin, death, and suffering we see around us.

But right after they sinned, God gave them hope. He promised that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent—that seed was Jesus, the last Adam.
