This week we’re looking at tools for helping us answer challenges to our faith.

Yesterday, I encouraged you to first check the argument against Scripture to see if it contradicts the Bible and to ensure your understanding of Scripture is correct.

Now, here’s what you need to remember while you do that:

1. The footnotes of your Bible aren’t inspired—only the text is.
2. The best commentary on Scripture is Scripture itself! So know your Bible!
3. God intended Scripture to be clear. Yes, there are some hard parts, but overall, Scripture can be understood by every Christian.

In short, always take everything back to our ultimate authority: God’s Word.
