The Bible teaches us that all of us share a common history. At Babel, God confused the language of the people, spreading them over the earth.
Now, if this judgment really happened, we’d expect people groups around the world to remember it. And they do!
The Polynesians have a story about people who, after a great flood, tried to build to the sky. But the creator changed their language. The Sumerians tell of a time when all people spoke one language, but it was changed by a god. Groups in Asia, India, North America, and other places have similar stories.
Of course, the true account is found in the Bible. These legends confirm the Bible’s history is true.
